Wetlands Field Trip
The Wetlands field trip to the Las Gallinas ponds is designed for
third grade students. 800 students, teachers, and parents participated
from Novato in May 2002.
At our educational station, we discuss how the wetlands ponds,
both here and at our own reclamation site, are filled with reclaimed
water and how the ponds provide habitat for birds and wildlife.
The students participate in Bird Bingo to sharpen their observational
bird watching skills.
Recycling Field Trip
The Recycling field trip and tour of the Recycling Center is designed
for both second grade students and sixth grade students. 600 students,
teachers, and parents participated from Novato in May 2002.
In addition to touring the Recycling Center, students also tour
the landfill and composting operations at Redwood Landfill, and
Olompali Park.
