Household Hazardous Waste Facility
The Novato community is fortunate to be able to use a permanent
drop-off facility for household and small business hazardous waste.
The facility is open from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM on the first and third Sundays and Mondays of each month, and is located to the rear of the Novato Recycling Center at 7576 Redwood Blvd.

Many products that are easily purchased at local stores are considered
hazardous and require special handling when using or disposing of

Fluorescent light tubes
and compact bulbs
The energy crisis has seen a definite increase in the use of fluorescent
lighting for energy savings!
Once these lights burn out, they should be recycled at the Recycling
Center, located at 7576 Redwood Blvd. (next to Shamrock Materials),
during the hours of 10am to 4pm Tuesday - Sunday.
Fluorescent tubes and bulbs also contain mercury and so care should
be taken to avoid breaking them.
